Hi,

Does Universal Remote Control Inc. make a remote which can send to IR/RF codes from one button - one on the release of a short press and the other after say 1 second.

I know the URC-100 can send two commands using a SHIFT button. If the above isn't available do any of the other remotes have the shift function? It would be nice to use the LIGHT button on the side for a shift button on the other remotes...

If Im correct, the mx-950 (and mx-3000) will allow this with variables. One press for one command, and a press and hold for a second command. No shift button needed.

Entering a 2 second delay in the beginning of a macro on the mx-700, mx-800, mx-850 will also allow a differential between single press and press and hold, but as far as I know its only for a jump to the desired device, verses running the entiore macro. i.e., press DVD for macro execution, press and hold for NO macro and a jump to the DVD page.

Others can correct me if Im wrong.
No, I wont install your plasma with an orange extension cord hanging down the wall.

You don't need variables for that on the MX-950/3000. You just select a "press and hold macro" which changes the macro editor to have two tabs - "before" and "after". If you merely press the button, one macro or command plays, or if you hold the button for a specified amount of time instead the other macro or command plays.

On the MX-700/800/850, adding a delay to the beginning of a macro adds a hold time requirement before anything after the delay plays (page jumps on the main menu are hard coded here and cannot be disabled or changed as on the MX-950/3000). Add a 2 second delay and you must hold the button for 2 seconds for anything to play back. And it can be any length of time - I use 0.5 seconds on my MX-800.

Otherwise, most of URC's other remotes feature customizable LCD screens with multiple pages, so a shift button isn't really needed (and isn't intuitive to new users).

Are you referring to "Press Time Mode"? If so, does this flash EITHER the 1st code OR the 2nd? Or will holding the button down flash the first THEN the second in all cases?
