Downloaded Editor software from URC wedsite. Serial cable. Prot sttings are correct. Nothing else is conected to port. Pop up keeps saying other device is connected to port.
Any Ideas?

Do you have two copies of MX editor running? Check Task Manager - sometimes you close it (and disappears from Task Bar but still running)

Make sure you don't have anything else running in the background that uses a COM port. Palm desktop or similar is a usual culprit. Mike www.SurfRemoteControl.com

Take a look at the URC FAQ here and see if you have the same settings. You can use a serial-to-USB adapter, but that's usually not as reliable as using a serial port.

Yup mate runs MX-700 of a USB to serial converter, no problems. Have you checked the baud settings on the COM port? Default should work but perhaps set too fast?

I'm still having no luck with download.
Uninstalled and reinstalled.
Ran update.
Unconnected cable and reconecked cable.
Checked all settings and reset.
Tried slower settings.
Still get Error Code 101-0700-0000 other device on Com port. Port is clear as far as I can tell. Passes all test. No other programs showing up.

Problem fixed. Got thru to URC tech. Changed all settings on both cpu and MX editor to show COM 2. Works smooth as butter. All devices are programed . Remote works great.
