Hello everyone,

I have a very newbie questions, please bear with me. I just got an mx3000 with the new mrf300 as a gift from my gf. As I was going through the manual and start to play around with it, I noticed that my escient fireball and my sat box( tivo box) both have a rear ir input. I thought, this is cool,so the front panel would not be messy witll all the IR wires hanging out.
now my questions, what kind of ir emiter that i should get (it only said "standard IR emmiter", any specific brand to look for ? and where can I get them, or I can just go to RAdio Shack and ask for them? and is there any specific ways to do it? or I just plug the IR emitter to the rear IR input and I am good to go?

in the mrf300 manual, it was said"
When connecting to a component rear panel IR input, cut the flasher off of the wire , strip the two conductors and connect to the rear panel input." what does it mean by stripping the conductors and connect to rear panel IR input? does it mean I just "plug the exposed conductor"?
my rear panel IR input accept 3.5 mm plug, I believed

Can you guys help me out? Thanks
I am sorry if the questions seem stupid, but I don't really understand it. I hoped you guys can help me out.

Tony

Yeah, that comment in the manual is confusing. Apparently, there are some components that have screw terminals for IR input. If your component has a standard plug, just use a regular male/male 3.5 mm cable.

Also, as far as IR emitters are concerned, your MRF-300 should have come with 6 emitters.
