I am trying to teach my MX-500 the Comcast On-Demand button command. The MX-500 responds that it has learned the command while programming but does not function? Any Ideas out there?

I believe channel 1 may be "on demand" - check by hitting the 1 digit plus enter. You could store a macro with those two commands on your on demand button.
Most of the comcast boxes seem to require an enter command after a single- or double-digit channel number, so you are probably not getting the full command learned.

There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions. |

You really don't need to program any "on demand" button, since all that content is at channel 1. With the Comcast/Motorola DVR, whether or not you need an enter command after a single digital channel number depends on a changeable setting. In the DVR menus, go to Setup -> Guide -> Auto-tune. The default setting is No. If you change the Auto-tune setting to Yes, you only need to enter the digit 1, and the DVR will automatically imply the enter command and switch to On Demand.
