I’ve had it /w this damn thing. I have programmed at least 70 MX3000s, 98% of which had a MRF 250/300. I’ve gotten nothing but mixed reliability results regardless of RF gain, receiver placement, IR intensity or emitter placement. You shouldn’t have to go through this much BS to get a reliable setup. You should be able to install it, program and be done with it. I’ve talked to several URC reps (including my regional sales rep) and they all tell me to keep changing things (IR intensity, emitter placement, RF gain). Any product /w this much guess work involved shouldn’t have left the drawing board to begin with. I did some Pronto TSU7500 /w RF extenders a couple months ago. I had 8 of them in one house with absolutely no problems. After that experience I decided to drop the MX3000. Enough is enough.

You think that with this many posts ripping on URC they would do something.

I know some people really don't like this, but if you want any info on what the rti T3 and RP6 can do in comparison to the mx-3000, email me or drop a line in the RTI forum. And if the TSU700 works for you, use it! ;-)

Tippy:

I'm going to say what a thousand readers here are itching to say, but are just too professional and polite to utter. I'm cross-posting into your original thread, just in case you happen to miss this one.

Dear god, Tippy, would you please just shut the hell up?

Would you burst in and interrupt an Anthony Robbins seminar to tell everyone how you've discovered that Zig Ziglar is SO much more motivating? Would you take the stage at an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting to try to convince everyone that Petronas is simply the best tequila a man can buy? Would you take your megaphone into the Vatican during Sunday mass to inform everyone how Christ has let you down and wow, you're just SO much more fullfilled now that you've discovered the Flying Spaghetti Monster?

I'd love to be able to say, "Of course you wouldn't," but your actions here make it impossible for me to assert that.

You hate URC products. We get it.
You had lots of trouble with them. We get it.
You think RTI has the best product line since Ben and Jerry first postulated there was life beyond Vanilla. We GET it.

What we DON'T get is what on Earth would make an intelligent adult think that anyone is going to believe that you don't have an agenda when you devote SO much of your energy here in the "enemy camp" attempting to proselytize your newfound religion.

Okay, you love RTI. You hate URC. More power to ya, buddy. Now for crying out loud, would you PLEASE go over to your new church and say your prayers THERE? Some of us have had years of great success installing the Home Theater Master line and now the Complete Control line. Don't get me wrong... I've have my days of frustration. Like with any product, there are ins and outs. And unlike you, I'm not even going to disparage "the other guys." If RTI makes a product you and others love, by all means, that's the product for you.

BUT... Any first-year psychology student can look at your posts on this topic so far and assert that your agenda is not what you claim. You're not trying to spread the word about RTI. You're trying to spread your anger about URC. Like someone who lost a loved one in an auto accident involving a Mercedes, you're trying to tell the world that all those so-called safety-features are a load of crap, and Mercedes killed your sister, and boo hoo hoo, everybody else ought to hate them as much as you do. Well we don't. We LIKE URC. We feed our families selling and programming their products. We think they're a great company with great support.

So good grief, be a man. Please, by all means, let URC be "dead to you" and shut the hell up in THIS forum so we can continue making a living with what we consider to be an excellent product line from an excellent company.

You go have that same attitude about RTI. Preach it, brother! Make the world a better place by putting an RTI in every media room you can. Competition is a wonderful thing in a free-market economy. If you're right (and it's clear that you're certain you are), then the market will decide in favor of RTI, and us URC-programming yokels will be left standing dumb with our MRF-250's in our hands, wondering where the horse and buggy business went. But all the hate-mongering, supposed "feature comparing," and "letting people know" you can muster in THIS forum is just your attempt to spread your own personal contempt.

And we're sick of it.

Gorignak

P.S.: Before you mention it, yes, this is a phony user name. Yes, I'm hiding my identity. Why? Because Tippy, you are a friend of mine, and on an ordinary day, I would never say these things to you. I'm hoping that I can get this point across and let us all move on without damaging our friendship.

I wish he'd mentioned braunschweiger, I really prefer that over bologna.
There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions.

My gut tells me that people don't understand the details in making a HTM RF system work. Yeah, I got burned a couple times on the MRF200, burned on the RTI T2 (Really bad), and burned on the Pronto TSU1000. Since the introduction of the MRF300 adn teh publications about how to setup a MRF system, all of my problems have disappeared. My last three MRF300's have worked Phenominally. Also with crestron type range (Dare I say That). I would call HTM and talk to their tech support and see what they think is your problem. I have install so many of the MRF systems I have lost track. I have had only 2 problems with their product in the past 2 years. Not a bad faulty rate. One time, I just didn't have the time to fix the problem (Switched to an IR System).

I have great faith in what HTM has put into the market. They are reliable, durable, easy to operate, easy to program, etc. Call HTM tech supprot, they are really good, adn they will help you solve the problem.

Just to make this clear, Gorignak is NOT me. I've pretty much said everything as directly as I wanted to and I think everyone here has gotten the idea. But Gorignak, I do thank you for your posts. You are trying to be professional, while others are allowed to run amok and are possibly causing us to lose business. If URC products didn't work well for so many of us, we would not be wasting our time.

It's fine that individuals want to post their experiences here. That's what these forums are for. But, when individuals are posting only to cause others to lose business, especially when they can't even sell RTI online, that's just bottom feeding and you should be ashamed of yourself/yourselves.

Thank you,
Damon DG
