My new Yamaha amp's remote causes the volume to change quickly when the up-volume key is depressed. I learned the volume button to my MX500 and when I press it the volume increase one .5 DB step. I have to press the button sometimes a dozen or more times to get the volume where I want it. A cheap remote (phillips universal) learned the command and does what I want.

So I guess my question is how can one get the volume key to 'repeat' when pressed, rather than sending a single command?

Learn the command to the MX-500 by holding down the button on the Yamaha remote for a few seconds until "GOOD" flashes on the MX-500.
