I am also having this problem with very very slow page jumps on my mx-3000 as a result of this latest update. I have also noticed that the rcc file size was reduced significantly when I saved it after the update - no other changes were made, just a save. Tried this on a few older archive files I have and had the exact same thing happen - they all decreased in size by almost half when re-saved. Looks like this update could be more than minor tweaking.

yes i noticed the drastic file size change also.... i think my setup was about 3700kb before the update and after the update its around 770kb. The change in file size must be associated with the slow page jumps (which is very annoying right now!). I hope this is solved soon.

Guys, Just an FYI.

After having looked through the source of the RCC files to make sure that my software (DMX-3000) would still work properly with the update, I can explain both the filesize decrease and the extremely slow page jumps.

They both are due to the same "fix". if you want to call it that. When PNG support was added, it was done in a very round-about way. The remote itself did not use alpha blended PNG's but rather just created BMP's of the resulting PNG overlay's thus the reason for the extremely LARGE filesize increases when using PNG's. In this recent update, they did away with the cached BMP's which made the filesizes decrease drastically. However, I dont think the remote can handle alpha blending on the fly very well, which is why any page that contains PNG's will take longer to draw. In my testing on my remote, any page that doesnt have PNG's will still transition quickly.

So with the most recent update, URC helped out in the filesize but only at the cost of speed.

With all the problems I'm reading about, I decided to check my MX-850 further. I made no changes to my programming but the MXF file went from 271K to 282K. Everything seems to be working great though. Did I get lucky or are these new problems only associated with the highend URC remotes?

This is absolutely rediculous! All this beta
testing for weeks on end and not one person on
the beta test team ran across any of these problems?
Give me a break!

I don't believe these issues were in the beta versions. I know the LCD button editor in the MX-950 beta editor was fine.

Same problem with slow transitions on my MX-3000. So bad, it almost makes it unusable when going from page to page.

Let's hope this gets fixed ASAP or the editor goes back one version till they fix it.

My favorite is the "Failed to updating files." [sic] message I now get every time I start the MX-950 editor. Bad enough that it gives an error message, but it isn't even grammatically correct -- now *that's* some slack testing.

The LCD editor is functioning fine on the 950. I haven't noticed any problems on the 850 or 700 either.

I don't have the 3000 editor loaded on this computer so I couldn't test it.

I don't understand. So they beta test and get it all working the way it should and then they change it just prior to release without further testing?

What the heck were they thinking?

Is there anyway to roll back to the previous version of the editor? The remote is driving me crazy now!

I spoke with Eric Johnson and he is flying to NY today and will address this as soon as possible.

Uninstall the current version, then download and install the older version from the "Files" section of this website.

BTW, my MX-950 labels show up in the button editor if I double-click on them. Same goes for the Page view mode. Reinstalling the new version didn't help, so I've rolled back to the old version for now.

I should note that the button editor in my MX-950 Editor seems fine. I have not worked with the Editor much, however, since the update. I just checked to see if a bug I reported was fixed. And it wasn’t.

Before I do this, will my new smaller file be compatible with the old version of the software?
