Hello,

I just got a new Fosgate Audionics MX-500 remote. I have a Pioneer DVD but none of the codes listed in the manual work and code # 108 listed in the manual is simply not accepted by the remote.

Another problem I'm facing is the "Auto-Scan with Three Digit Numer" feature does not work at all. I follow all the instructions but pressing the Up or Down buttons changes the code just once but does not send out any signal. I have tried holding them down to but no luck. It simply flashes PRESS POWER. To change the code, I have to press the power button and then either the up or down buttons which is very tedious.

Is this a problem in the Remote Unit I have or is this a functionality left out in the 'Fosgate' remotes. Learning, etc. seems to be working fine.

Futher, I have downloaded the manual from the HTM website. Is that the correct version?

Would appreciate any help on this.

Thanks in advance.

I thought that Fosgate used a version of the SL-9000 rather than the MX-500? In any event, you should probably just learn the commands from the Pioneer remote. It's possible that they did not include a full database with the Fosgate version.

You are correct. The "auto-scan" method has two steps because another company owns a patent on the one step method. That means the remotes would cost more if URC had to license that technology.

Did you happen to move the Dvd device from it original position on the remote?

Ok I guess then it's not a faulty remote. I have learned all the commands from my original remote and it's working fine now.

Is there a different manual for the Fosgate version of the MX-500??

Thank you all for your assistance.

I'm not sure how they deal with their OEM models and manuals. The Fosgate equipment should have come with a manual explaining how to setup the remote. If it didn't, check the Fosgate site and see if there is a download. If it is in fact an unmodified MX-500, then it should program identically to the current HTM MX-500. Let me know what you find.

Thank you,
Damon DG
