I recently purchased an 850 and failed to find the following devices in the IR library:

Basic Cable box - Motorola DCT2224/1661/ACDEG

VCR/DVD Combo - LG LDX-514

LCD TV - Viewsonic N3250W

I've been going through different models of the same brand and still have not found anything that can control these devices. Any ideas? Thanks.

Learn them from the original remotes??

Motorola uses same codes as Scentific Atlantic, General Instrument... and there is no discrete power

LG and Viewsonic...Dont know never used them
There's no worse feeling than that millisecond you're sure you are going to die after leaning your chair back a little too far.

That cable box should certainly respond to codeset 74 (almost all Motorola DCT boxes do). If that isn't working, I'd start questioning whether you have another problem (such as a bad remote). Are you just using line of sight IR to test?

Do you have the original remote for the Viewsonic?
If not, I have a few spare ones. (i'm an integrator) and could provide you with one for a modest fee.
