I took my MX950 off the charging cradle last night and within minutes I received a Low battery warning. When I went into the remote settings it said the battery was at 80% capacity and the warning message was set to come on at 30%. This was the second time this has happened in the last two days. I don't know if it would have anything to do with it but I did install a live update 3 days ago. The update did not say it was updating the firmware so I doubt that has anything to do with it.

FWIW, I've never seen this problem. I can leave mine off the charger for days (maybe over a week) before it gives me a (valid) warning.

BTW, that is an industry standard battery.

I'm a ham radio operator, and buying batteries for handhelds has always been a cash cow for manufacturers. $75 for a battery for a $200 radio - come on! My family and I have bought lots of aftermarket batteries. My most recent radio I bought actually had a replacement battery that only cost $39 from the manufacturer, so I snapped it up. Later, my son bought the same radio and noted cheaper batteries online. Sorry for the background being so verbose, but....

Turns our our radios use the same battery as the MX-950. I went to ebay to get my son a replacement battery for his radio, and ended up getting THREE because they were FIFTY CENTS each, brand new, clamshell packaged, and they have been working all year now. That'll fit!

Sorry, that blows my itty bitty mind...

Mine will now last only about two days off the charger with occasional use for an hour or two a night. I just bought one too.
I may be schizophrenic, but at least I have each other.

Mine only lasts about 1 day so I went to the link and got two spares. Even though the auction is over, the sellers ebay store has them for .99.... cool..
