Ouch. I already spent $17 more than I wanted
to on this device buying the second converter,
nevermind the hassle of buying the first and returning
it, then going back for the second. Now, I have
to add a third at $35-$40 to the MX-700 price
tag to buy the exact (and most expensive) USB/Serial
converter just to get it working? AND then *hope*
that one works too??

Terrible OOBE (out of box experience) from URC.
Not only do they require you buy an add-on just
to get basic functionality from their product,
but the add-on costs almost 25% of the cost of
the item.

I think I'm returning this MX-700. When URC decides
to create a device that uses 21st century technology
(USB), I'll have a look again. Very dissappointing.
These guys make really nice remotes. It's a
shame they create such a horrible buying experience
just to make it functional.

I have the 11% problem with a MX-700 that was
programmed a year ago, and I am not using a USB
to Serial adapter. I have tried two different
versions of the MX-Editor software and all of
the usual things like new batteries, rebooting
the computer, changing ports, etc. etc. Nothing
will allow me to upload from the MX-700 to the
pc. I have a Dell Inspiron 600m and the same
serial port works fine with my Pronto and Crestron
software. I am at a loss. URC doesn't even have
an idea of how to fix this one. Any ideas before
I go ballistic on this MX-700?
