I found some code numbers on the web that I want to use with my new MX-700. How do I enter them into the editor for use with a button? I can only see how I can select an option from the built-in IR database, but not how to add a new code.

are the code number in hex format? If so from what I have read you first need to convert them to ccf format and then import with the universal browser (what a great name!). The conversion program is written for the Pronto and is in that file section - I am not sure exactly where since I have not used it.
It would be a bit easier if you found them in ccf, mxd or mxf format? Have you serached this website and updated with the latest IR codes from the manufacturer's website..
I am not really an expert.. yet..
good luck

I have found some of the codes I'm interested in in ccf format. However, the editor manual states that when you open a ccf file in the universal browser, the only commands you can drag and drop onto an MX-700 control, are the "Learned" ones. Unfortunately, some of the ones I want are not Learned, but pre-programmed. And, sure enough, you can't move them to the MX-700.
What a pain. This remote is very powerful and flexible, but they don't make getting codes into it easy. I can't understand why they limit the transfer to only learned codes - makes no sense to me.

Persosnally, I use my old RS or OFA remotes. The codes are usually available if you check out the OFA forum and it is very easy to produce and test the code -- and then copy to the HTM.
