My 850 learns the commands perfect. The DVD, LCD etc work great. However when I try the Sat the emitters flash but it doesn't respond with RF or IR. I also have a MX 700 and that works fine (IR) with the Sat. I'm completely baffled. Any Ideas?

Thanks

Make sure that both the MRF-250 (if that's what you have) and the RF assignment in MXEditor are set to the same ID (something other than "0"). Also, make sure that you have the SAT emitter assigned properly.

Finally, look at the RF troubleshooting procedure here: [Link: remotecentral.com]

Could be another case where the 700/800 will learn ok but the 850 will not. Why don't you use the pre-programmed codes for the HD-SAT520?

Yes... I always try the database codes first. BIG time saver if the code is there, and I think your zenith SAT is in there.
But I would advise you to unplug the power from the MRF unit first, then test the codes direct from the remote to the sat box. Your codes may be perfect, but the interaction between the MRF and the sat box is not. This will help you narrow down where the real problem is, because as you describe it, the problem could be a few different things. It happens all the time....

The 520 has a pretty narrow signal receiver range. Don't know if this applies to your setup. Check different positions to get all the signals lined up.
