I've had a MX-700 for over a year now and everything was fine. Two days ago I picked it up and the LCD contrast is so low I can barely read it. I tried holding down the MAIN button and using the up or down thumb button but it makes no difference. Any ideas? Has anyone else had this problem? Thanks.

This may sound stupid, but, did you try new batteries? The only time my 700 'dims' is when the juice is low!
Does it work otherwise? No loss of distance, still works the components O.K.?

Yep tried new batteries. Everything works fine except the LCD. Today it came back on for awhile then started fading again. Not sure what's going on.

I've heard of this happening on occasion after time. Give URC a call tomorrow and see about a repair.
