I'm trying to assign a press and hold macro to my dad's dvd device button. I can assign macros to the power buttons but despite the instruction manual explicitly stating you can assign device buttons as macros, I cannot. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Putting a macro on a Device button is different than putting one on the Power buttons. Are you doing the following steps?

Press Audio and Mute together for 3 seconds. Once the display says SET, press the Device button you wish to set as Macro button. Then follow the regular macro steps to add commands and save. Make a delay the first step of the macro to have a push-and-hold macro.
