I'm unclear whether this can be 'fixed' or not:
You can assign different 'jump' styles to page flips on the MX3000, but NOT to the actual 'PAGE' and 'MAIN' buttons, these seem to be forced wipes (left, right, and up).
Please help, it's unfortunate to be locked into these styles for seemingly no reason. For that matter, it would be nice to assign ANY macro to the page buttons (say, flip to a different device or play a sound, etc.).

Rob, I totally agree. Especially if you spent hours and hours on a smooth navigation and then a hit of the MAIN or PAGE button destroys it all ;-) André

I don't believe there is currently a way to change those particular wipes only for those buttons. I checked the software and there are no settings for them...only wipes for page jumps that you create.

I agree Andre, especially when some of us would rather NOT have those buttons at all (hey, my needy rich customer's don't want to 'guess' what page they are going to, they want a button called 'keypad' and one called 'favorites' and all page flipping should be behind the scenes.
What we need is an OEM bezel that can be used to omit or include whatever hard buttons we need (or some miracle way to re-label hard buttons, the holy grail of remote interfaces).
I do however miss the 'FAV' button...not because we used it to store favorite channels, but it was a 'section' of the remote you could get to and back from no matter what device you were on with just one button press...useful for audio modes, aspect ratio buttons, etc.

Rob,
Your suggestion about adding the Fav button is really good. You should post that to the URC Wish List thread. :)

Apparently, someone's ears were burning at URC and the ability to have user defined MAIN and PAGE+/- buttons (ie: assign macros) will soon be released as part of the next MX-3000 editor update. Very nice! Mike This message was edited by Surf Remote on 05/02/05 17:26 ET.
