Is the rating based on the length of time you've been a member or the number of posts? I'm just curious...to the rest of the world, my customers, salespeople, and hobbyists I'm just a 'Junior Member' and this does not bode well for my reputation in the 'biz' LOL. Just curious.

Some are more time related others are more #post related. Also some are specialized unique member titles, but for one of those Daniel needs to pick it and change it.

It's the number of posts, but I'm sure Daniel could give you the specifics. I don't even look at that very often, since it's the quality of the post that matters, not the quantity. ;-)

Many thanks to the much esteemed Elite and Super members for the responses. I was mainly curious since I think i signed up a few years ago, but haven't posted/replied much to the forums.

As we shift from Crestron to MX3000 on our 'simpler' theaters, i can see this forum will be a valuable resource! Thanks to all for the QUALITY of the responses (Super God-Like Members and Lackie Pea-On Members alike).

Mike: the question has been asked many times in the different forum, Daniel never gave exact numbers. On the other hand I know "it's my first day" and "founding member" are based more on time then post count.

founding member is someone that has been here since the beginning but does not post enough

Not that I encourage the 'class' system, but maybe there should be some sort of proving ground, test, etc. to determine this.

It could be the case that someone appears to be an 'Elite' member, when in fact they are unseasoned and may give haphazzard advice. On the other hand, good advice from a 'Junior' member might go unnoticed.

Maybe 'Basic' and 'Advanced' member legends would leave more open to interpretation (say 'Advanced' members might be people that Daniel has worked with, or reviewed their work, while 'Basic' members imply everybody else)

Listen to me...i'm giving advice, and I'm but a Junior member :)

Maybe the winner of the design contest could 'graduate' to a higher level :)

Ahh, you mean like this one under my former name:

But, if it's long enough, it just becomes a "Classic Post", like my first one here:

But only for the MX-3000. ;-)

The thing is that many people post on multiple forums, so they're going to show up the same way on all of them, regardless of their expertise with a particular remote.

Rob,

Don't feel bad...I was a Lead Tech Support Agent for URC and I'm an "Advanced Member", not like "URC Supreme Chancellor" or anything. ;) haha

Thank you,

I should only be labelled as the Sasquatch, for I live in a cold environment and I am tall and Hairy.

yes

But, if it's long enough, it just becomes a "Classic Post", like my first one here:

those are pre registration days when all you did was type in a handle when you posted. so the same person could use several handles and several people could use the same one. You reminded me of this time when I was dialoguing with an other Anthony so it looked schizophrenic because Anthony was answering Anthony’s question

What a long strange trip it's been. ;-)

yup, but a good one I have been around since summer/fall 99, you have been around a long time, do you remember when you showed up?

haphazard advice maybe, but unseasoned, no. You can't get that many posts in a weekend :)

On the other hand, good advice from a 'Junior' member might go unnoticed.

who said you cannot. I think anyone that puts that much credence into titles and post counts is definitely on the wrong track.

On the other hand. A large post count makes it easier to judge the posters character. (you can see what others think of them and look at their other posts for consistency -is he someone with an irrational love or hate of something)
