This is odd...i've noticed that if I learn a code from a Philips Pronto, the code won't repeat when sent from the MX remote (happens to be an MX850). In other words, hold the PRONTO button down, the code oscillates until you release the button...the same code learned into the MX850 terminates after one pulse.

What I really need is to know if the MX3000 will behave the same, but if I can solve the problem for the MX850 then i should have no issues with the MX3000.

I've never noticed this behavior before, is it something inherent in the code that SOME remotes will repeat it and SOME will terminate after one? I would assume a repeating code learned from remote to remote would retain the repeat string. Anyway, any help will be appreciated.

Usually, holding down the button on the remote your learning from while learning will give you the repeating command. However, that doesn't work will all components. Try "fluttering" the button on the remote you're learning from during the learning process. Also, have you tried just using the Pronto file and dragging and dropping the command from it with the Universal Browser?

RobZ,

I agree with Mike. Your best bet is probably to use the Universal Browser to open your CCF and then drag and drop your learned volume command over to the MX-850.

Let us know if it works for you.

Thank you,

I haven't had any issue with learning or sending out repeating codes on the 3000, except when using aliases. With the 3000 you have to specificaly designate a buttons code as the repeating ("Repeat while button is pressed") variety and then the number of simultanious repeates to send out. Once you've got it learned correctly, which the guys above have covered, you shouldn't have any unresolveable issues with the 3000.

Sorry if it seemed as though i were a novice. Yes I FIRST tried dragging from the universal browser when i first noticed the problem. Attempting to learn directly from the Pronto I was sure would solve the problem, as I agree that learned repeat sequences are usually accepted. This is bizarre because as I stated the code repeats fine from the Pronto but when learned (or dragged from the universal browser) it does not repeat from the MX3000.

I've also tried to 'learn' (or drag) to both hard buttons and soft buttons (LCD buttons) and even tried to assign it to the VOLUME buttons (assuming some internal logic governed some keys to repeat and some not to) with no luck.

My next step is to try fluttering the Pronto, but in my years of experience this usually is instrumental in 'removing' the repeat sequence, not getting it to work better.

For the record: the codes (learned or dragged) work FINE but just don't repeat as they do from the Pronto ... also for the record, other 'repeating' remotes (non-Pronto) seem to learn fine into MX, repeat sequence and all

With URC remotes, it's usually just the opposite.

Have you set the repeat number as Lane mentioned above?

Aha! Well i only observed the issue on an MX850 so far (so long as the 3000 is fine i'm okay with it). I wonder if that feature was added to the 3000 to sort of 'fix' the problem of repeating vs. non-repeating. I'll post again if I have the same issue with the 3000, and thanks everybody!
