Hello, I am new to this forum and to programmable remotes. I just got my MX-850 and am starting to program it. I could not find my Yamaha CDC 715 on the MX Editor. So I tried various codes. When I test, the drawer opens up. I thought that it was supposed to turn it off. It did not matter which code I looked at and tried nothing worked better. I went through the codes and did not see an on and off on any page. I downloaded the code to the 850 and my on and off buttons control the drawer, but don't shut it off or turn it on. I looked through this site and they don't show my CDC 715. Any suggestions and advice will be happily accepted. I can't even remember what the Yamaha remote looked like until I pulled out my file on the machine, so I can't manually teach the commands. I will continue to look for it, but I don't have much hope of finding it. Thanks for the help. Regards, Fred

Fred,
Have you tried using the learning capabilities of the MX-850? Give that a shot. It may work for you.
If you have any questions, just let me know. I am always happy to help.

Fred, Did your Yamaha remote ever turn the CD player on and off? I believe it may be one of the players that do not have remote on/off. If you used the CDC-705 code, I checked the available Pronto CCFs for that player and neither had "Power" commands. Mike www.SurfRemote.com

Damon and Mike, Thanks for the responses and the help. I think that Mike is correct with his question about the lack of an on/off through the remote in my machine. I pulled out my owners manual and took a close look at the remote pictured there and I could not see an off or on button. The large button on the top of the remote is an open/close. Since I posted the question I went to the Yamaha website and tracked down the CDC715 remote. They are still available. I would not have thought that it was available since I bought the machine in the early 90's. I noticed that the 705 and 715 shared the same part number. So the 705 codes in the MX Editor should be correct for my 715. Thanks again, Fred
