I just got a 942 DVR from Dish and got almost everything setup with my MX-850. I reprogrammed the 'Stop' button on the remote to 'Record' Why doesn't the MX-850 have a specific record button? Maybe it does and I am just not seeing it?
Anyway, I would like to know what other people are using for a record button. Are you simply using one of the LCD buttons? I try to have a hard button for all the main functions since that is the way my wifre prefers it:)

I have 2 MX-850s and a Dish 522, 510, and a 501. I have my Record button on an LCD button. The ONLY time I use the Record button is if I want to record something I am currently watching live. When I see something in the guide that I want to record, I just highlight it and press the select button. That takes me to the Recording Options Page of the DVR. Works great.

The record button is always on the LCD for the URC PC programmable remotes. If you prefer it to be on a hard button, you can either learn it or create a shortcut. I don't mind it being on the LCD, that way no one accidentally hits it. :)
