I recently set up my MX800. I downloaded the latest updates via the live update and located my VCR a Philips VR620.

Unfortunately one of the most important features seems to be missing from the IR codes included, I can't setup any program recordings as they don't appear to be available in the codes on the device??

I can enter the setup/programming menu and can scroll up and down but that is it. I can't enter into any times or make any changes!?

I am sure it is not me as some of the keys on the Philips remote don't appear on the MX800?

Any help would be appreciated.

You can go click on the lcd editor and add 'buttons' then learn them from the remote that came with the vcr.

Usually the MX data base is accurate but on occaision, it is missing something.
Every day is a good day.......some are just better than others!

Proud to say that my property is protected by a high speed wireless device!

Thanks Pilgrim.

I programmed all the LCD buttons using the "learn" method you recommended

The only one that took effect was the timer/menu button. This gets me into the programming mode that I needed. I find that all the otherLCD buttons learned do not work. I did find that all the hard buttons on the MX now perform the functions required (as they do on the original remote).

I would however like to copy/move the hard button settings to the LCD buttons I set up as the LCD has better descriptions than the hard buttons.

Is there a way to do this?
Also any idea why the LCD buttons did not learn when I used exactly the same procedure?

Alec,

What you want to do, in order to replicate hard buttons on the LCD is create shortcuts. This can be done by selecting the LCD button, then in the "Edit & Label Buttons" window, select the device and IR code that you want to utilize.

If you have any other questions, I am always happy to help.

Thank you,
Damon DG
