If I were to buy an MX-700 can I clone my current MX-500 setup to it as a starting point?

I know the button layouts are 100% the same but this doesn't necessarily mean it isn't possible to clone those buttons that do correspond.

The short answer is no. You basically have to start from scratch but using MX-Editor is easy and fast after a little learning. About all you can do is use the learn function between the 2 remotes. Download MX-Editor and see how you like it even before getting the 700.

Thanks for that. I have had a play with the editor, it seems quite reasonable although I've read comments about it being a bit unstable at times.

I realise I could 'learn' from the 500 it just seems such a waste of effort as I have several configured devices.

Oh well, if Home Theater didn't think of making it easy to upgrade then there's no option. :(

Cheers.
