I downloaded my program to the MX-850 tonight and discovered that my macros don't work like I intended. I need some help on figuring out what to change. On Main page 1 I have the following Macros or activities:
Watch SAT
Watch DVD
Listen CD
Listen Radio
Cable Camco (Camcorder)

On Main Page 2 I have the following devices:
SAT-TIVO
Escient
Receiver
TV
DVD1
DVD2

When I press the Watch SAT activity button everything functions correctly with the exception of the remote does no jump to the SAT-TIVO device page at the end of the macro. It jumps to a page labeled SAT or WATCH depending on whether I press the left or right LED button. I added a jump command at the end but it still did nothing. The same thing happens when I press the other macros buttons on MAIN page 1. What did I over look? Do the devices on 1st Main page need to be assign to the corresponding devices on the 2nd Main page? If so how do I go about doing that.

Make sure that you are not hiding the 2nd page if you think you're really going to use and need it. However, I'd suggest not thinking in "pronto" when programming the 850.

Why not put all of your Satellite commands under a one and only "Tivo" page? Delete all the dumb commands (or move them and hide them on Pages 2, 3 & 4 of the device if you think you might need them later). - then hide the main page 2 and leave it for equipment that doesn't need direct use (like lighting and surround functions you might put in favorites).

You might consider simplifying the whole process by eliminating "activity" words like "watch", "listen" and "play" etc (That's what might be called "prontonese"). Just because device buttons are there doesn't mean you have to use them.

Hide pages you don't need and use. Keep the discrete codes on these. Why do you need most of them if you have great macros?

Most device's "on" and "off" ought to be linked to the Main "on" and "off" with just a few exceptions.

That might help.
Manuals?! We don't need no stinking manuals! a.. er..

Steve, Presently I am not hiding any pages. I wanted to see how everything worked first and then hide any pages that is not needed by the rest of the folks in the house with the exception of myself. I don't see how moving the devices on the 2nd main page to the 1st main page helps me. I am having problems with the "watch SAT" macro not jumping to the right device page at the end so that I or my wife can select a channel or press guide for the SAT or bring up a list of movies in the DVD changer if the button "watch DVD" was press.
I did not define devices for the "Watch" or "DVD" buttons. I just added a macro to the buttons. Was there something I missed. I thought that since the first line in the macro points to "Escient" device the macro would jump to that device after the last step was executed. Similar thought for the other macros. As I mentioned in my original post I also added a jump button at the end of the macro but that did not work either.

A macro on any of the MAIN buttons will go to the first page of that device unless you add a "Goto page" command at the end of the macro. I'm not sure how you were doing it, but in the "Macro and Favorites" window, add a "goto page" command (3rd icon from the right) to go to the SAT-TIVO device.

BigDM,

If you'd like, send me the file and I'll have a look. I'll fix it up for you, if there's something wrong. :)

Thank you,

Watch and Sat are on two seperate buttons right? If this is the case, both buttons need a "go to" Sat at the end of the macro.

My pronto beef is that the "Watch" label and button can be eliminated altogether to leave a simple "Sat" button for your Satellite watching pleasure. no?

Steve, Watch and SAT are on 2 separate buttons with the exact same macro commands. I used the macro copy feature.

Mike, I added the goto command exactly as you described when I tested it last night and it did not work. It went to the device page titled "SAT" instead which has no assign IRs to the LED and hard buttons.

When I get home I am going to look at a few of the files in the forum to verify that I did things correctly.

I've never understood why you need a 'watch' tv. TV should be good enough.
Call me a moron (I'm sure some have!).

Have you 'punched through' the hard buttons for your devices?
If you have a 'watch tv' that gets its channel, menu, etc. from a 'real' device, you have to punch through the commands to the 'activity' 'device'.
Every day is a good day.......some are just better than others!

Proud to say that my property is protected by a high speed wireless device!

Alright, I fixed the problem. I just copied the pages of the devices on Main page 2 to the activity buttons on Main page 1. This makes the buttons redundant but I place the macros on the buttons on Main page one and I can hide Main Page2 which will have all my devices on them. I thank everyone for their help.

There's still something wrong if a "Goto Page" is not going to the correct page. You might try reinstalling the software.
