I'm not sure of the price difference, but it is obviously less expensive to buy from a dealer that isn't authorized - is that important, especially for an amateur?

I guess it depends on whether you believe the warranty is important. I believe some of the sponsors on this board have attractive pricing on open box models. I have purchased the open box in the past and could not tell the remote was even used.

Just because Authorized Dealers don't openly advertise lower prices, it can't hurt to ask. We can sell for whatever price we want...AND you get a warranty.

Tom,
That's very thoughtful of you to suggest supporting those of us who support Remote Central. Mike at Surf is a real help and I try to help as much as I can too. There are a couple of others as well, but I'm not sure who else is an Authorized Dealer off hand that posts regularly.

Not to discount your contributions Damon, but I was referring to those who pay for advertising on this site. That's what enables Daniel to keep it going. Supporting those merchants will help keep this a free site for the rest of us. If you have a banner ad running, then I'd include you on the list as well. ;-)
