Okay, I bought the OFA URC-8810 remote to help me learn discrete codes to my MX-850. I have the original remote for all of my electronic components so there is no issue with learning a button. My problem is that I would like to find the power on/off discrete codes for the components that have the toggle power button. I am not at the house but I believe the urc-8810 has a toggle power button as well, so will I really be able to find separate power on and off discrete codes. Since this remote does not have a LED screen do I have to upload the information to the MX-editor to know what the codes are? Could someone help with providing detail instructions on how to use this remote to find the necessary discrete codes.
Man it is fun programming this remote and learning how powerful the remote is. Once I am done programing the remote my wife should not have any complaints about how to work what she calls "MESS".

You should be able to find discretes for an 850 through the IR database, or from Philips Pronto or MX-700/800 files on this site.

However, to find advanced codes go to www.hifi-remote.com. To program them, follow the instructions for the 8811 shown in my FAQ here.

Mike,
Thanks for the reply. It was the advance code instructions I was looking for. I had already did an extensive search in the Pronto and Univeralremote file directory for the few devices in which I need discrete power codes. I am not sure if this is going to help since I have a few Toshiba components which I have now learned through search this forum is famous for TOAD devices.
