We have a customer with a MX700(ir) and now they would like a MX3000. The IR system is a Xantech CB-60 6 port IR distibution Block with a niles plasma proof Receiver. is there a way to take the IR receiver out and connect 1 flasher from a MRF-250 with correct wiring to the Receiver input to save us time having to solder new ends on all of the existing emitters??

we have the MX3000 working great on the IR side of it all but like to convert it over to RF as easily as possible as we gave them such a deal on the MX3000

Thanks
Glack

You should be able to get rid of the Niles IR reveiver and CB-60 and plug the emitters into a MRF-250 or MRF-300. The MRF-250 uses 2.5mm plugs but you can use adapters such as the RS #274-327. MRF-300 uses 3.5mm plugs, same as Xantech.

Glack,

If you're going directly to an IR in from the MRF-250, you may need to add a resistor in line. The MRF-300 is specifically designed to handle this type of application and can plug directly in to IR ins of a device using mono 3.5 mm jacks.

Thank you,

Thanks Guys we got it figured out, we hada bad mx3000 as well as a bad mrf250, the mx3000 was slow to respond to button presses on the screen(had to actually press harderthan usual to get it to work, and the mrf250 was only catching about 80% of the commands. gave us the feeling we did something wrong on the connections. swapped 1 and things got better, then swapped the other and all was great.
