hey -

specific example -

1. tv code for my TV, from the database works fantastic for my tv. test it through mx-3000 and there are no problems _at all_. set it to repeat once, twice, 3* - never an issue.

2. put the code in a macro - ALL of the devices are in the 'other' room except for the tv code.

press button. tv fails to turn on.

3. make a second button beside it - place tv on it only.

second buttonworks. same code. first button still does -not-.

4. add seconds of delay on either side.

no luck.

my only theory:

it seems like there is a bug - if you have a device that is IR from the mx-3000 *itself* and other devices on the same macro that are ONLY onthe RF - things get whacked. for example - if i put the tv at the TOP of the macro - the **OTHER** devices fail.

anyone else seen this? any thoughts?

CB,

That's pretty strange. I've heard of individual commands needing to be moved within a macro in order to function, but not ALL of them. That's very strange.

Can you send me your file and explain what you want to do that's causing the problem? I'm interested to see what's going on. You can e-mail me at: [email protected]

Thank you,
Damon DG

KB,

He's putting them under IR. But there are also some other things happening on the power command buttons that shouldn't be. I have the file and am working with him on it. :)

Thank you,

Make sure the base is not set to the "0" address. If so, some codes will pass IR and some won't. Go figure, but I can prove it to you that it happens with Toshiba DVD players for example.

what SEEMS to happen, is certain codes conflict with others. if i put a toshiba plasma at the outset, my NAD and zektor hds4 wont come on.
if i put the toshiba last, the toshiba wont come on.

i've got it working now, however.
i found an order and a certain amount of delays which work. its a bit bizarre, but seems to be stable.

my first problem was i was using actual IR codes on the MAIN page in the macro -

so it was

IR toshiba
delay
IR nad
delay
IR zektor

etc

rather than using the macro to use the TV page on/off

i think this is what he was referring to as being weird.

anyway, back to work on it. making this work in a way i like is certainly a hobby in itself..once i get the UI then i have to go and design the actual buttons and images..

CB,

Yes! That's what I was saying. I got your file but haven't had a chance to see it. If you fixed it since then, can you please send me a new copy, just so I can see how you adjusted it?

Thank you,
Damon DG
