I have a Hughes Directv DVR model SD-DVR80. I was reviewing the files on this site and I saw that some folks had an LCD button for SAT and TIVO. Do I need 2 buttons or just one. I am thinking just one button labeled "SAT" since I have only one remote for the component. By the way what IR code should I use. In the database I see only SD-DVR40 and SD-DVR120. Should either work?
One other question, is it better to have SAT, DVD activity buttons on MAIN page 1 and SAT, DVD device buttons on the 2nd page?

You only need one, some have Stand Alone tivos, which they use with their SAT receivers, since your's is a combo unt, you only needd one device key.

Bigdm,

The codes for SD-DVR40 and SD-DVR120 are identical (essentially the Tivo Series 2 code), so it should work for the 80.

When I program a remote, I like to put the activities/macros on Main - Page 1 and the devices on Main - Page 2. That way, there are less button presses for the user to deal with. The choice is really all about what you are most comfortable with though.

Thank you,
Damon DG

Thanks Damon. That's kind of what I was thinking but wanted to get a good feel if others thought it was a good approach. By the way do most people hide the 2nd page (from the wife ) if all devices are on that page.
