Does anyone have an update on whether they are out there or not? I understand that they are available for some models that have the right firmware, but not for others. Can anyone help out with explaining these ins and outs of the Samsung saga?

I've been trying to figure it out myself. There is a download in the files section for HLN that is advertised to work for HLP. Here's a link to the thread that references it (and gives you all the info you care to know on the topic):

I'll find out Friday how this works "out of the box". I have the MX-850 and Samsung HL-P6163W. Sounds like everyone needs to figure for themselves whether their firmware is right or not.

Good luck!

Thanks for the info - I'll try it this week as well. I have the exact model Samsung. Let me know how your programming goes on Friday - interested in hearing your results.

Thanks again!

Under the TV IR data, check Samsung codes 253 and 275. 253 is for the 617 and 275 is specifically discreet Samsung TV commands.

Let me know if this helps.

Thank you,
Damon DG
