I just bought an Air Purifier mad by Bionare (model BAP825u) which came with a remote. It only has a few commands (on, off, low, med, high, ION on, ocsilate). I learned all of them into my MX-850. BUT, each command ONLY works after using a different command than it. For example, the same command turns ocsilation on and off. So, if I turn ocsilation on, then immeadiately press the same button (ocsilation off), it wo'nt turn osci off. But, if I hit another command like MED or HIGH, then hit the oscilation off button, it will work.

What is that all about? Can I fix it somehow? Is this what I see referred to as "Toggle bit" commands??

Any help appreciated!!

Hi Chris,

We are working on a solution for this. I'll post here as soon as I have one. It is related to the "toggle bit" problem.

Ok, thanks Eric. I guess that is a response "right from the horses mouth". ;-)

Thanks. Thought I was doing something wrong.

Eric,

Which toggle bit schemes will the 850 be able to learn once you fix this problem?

Also, it looks like the URC-series remotes are still able to do a better job of learning toggle bits than the Complete Control line. Are there any plans to add double-tap learning in addition to a more intelligent single-tap algorithm?

Thanks.

Greg

Greg,

The MX-850 will learn RC5, RC6 and RC7 "toggle bit" commands with a single tap (actually superior learning technology to the consumer products). However, there is a flaw which will be corrected shortly. Right now, though the commands 'toggle", they don't toggle per device in a synchronized way. Should be fixed with a live update soon.
