To all those that have requested it recently, I will send a copy as soon as the new version is completed, Adding support for kenwood changers at the moment. I was unaware of their use of +10 & +100 buttons.

To anyone using Mega Changers, what other formats do I need to be aware of as far as Disc Selection goes. I personally own a Sony, and only know of /have access to Sony brand changers. Sony allows Direct Disc ( straight number) , Kenwood requires the use of +10 & +100 keys. What about other brands, what is required to select a disc my slot number?

You and I should talk. It seems to me that your code could be modified slightly to include support for adding pages of channel favorites as well. This would be a boon to every custom installer out there. I'd be happy to work with you to create some basic layouts to support varying numbers of favorites (I personally prefer a list of only my actual 10-20 favorites, but many people want every station logo available in their list. I could also dig up the station logos and put those into a group of files (or perhaps one file per logo, as that has its own advantages.

With this added functionality, your program would solve two of the most tedious parts of programming a custom installation. I'd love to see this come to pass!

Thanks,
Dale

Well just this weekend my GF was over and got her first chance to look at this program in action and she loved it. Often times she knows what movie she wants to watch but finiding it in my old system was tough. Now she gets the alpha list and finds the movie and one touch later she is watching the movie. This program plus the RF base unit makes the perfect ease of use setup for people who do not want / need to think about the remote operation. She doens';t have to worry about what slot the movie is in or where she is pointing the remote..

A GREAT JOB!

Sam

UPDATE: I believe the Kenwood +10 & +100 is working properly now, still testing it at the moment.

Dale, I would really like to follow up on your idea to add favorites. What is the best way/time to contact you.

As soon as testing for the Kenwood addition is complete, I will be sending it to all those that have requested it thus far, including those that already have it, because there have been a few other additions.

I am working on getting a website/domain purchased and up 'n running so that I can add Auto-Update feature to the program as I think it will make releasing new updates much easier for me and the users.

Bracken,

By all accounts what you're doing sounds awesome. Thanks for the hard work! I would love a copy as well. I currently have a Sony DVP CX-860 but I'm going to trade up to a CX-777es (possibly with SDI output from JVB Digital). Based on what I've seen from the links you provided, you have created most of the magic of the Kaliedescape (http://www.kaleidescape.com) in a consumer friendly (i.e. more affordable) platform. True we still can't stream video feeds to multiple zones or control multiple changers (at least not that I'm aware of; other than by using an Escient Fireball as a RS232 interface controller).

Thanks agian,

Rob

Rob,

A Future version will have support for multiple changers and of multiple brands. The front end will be a single fluid list of movies, so there will be no noticable difference between changers. When you select a movie, you will be taken to the corresponding controls for that changer. Coding has already begun for this feature, I cant give a date as to when it will be available. BUT it is in the works.

What changers are all of you using?
