I am attempting to program an MX-800 with hex remote codes. As the MX Editor will not support this I am using Pronto Edit 4 (which will save files as *.ccf) and the Universal Browser in the MX Editor. In the Universal browser, only when the Action List for a button states “Learned Data” can I drag and drop IR codes into the MX buttons.

I have found that some hex codes entered will show up in the Universal Browser’s Action List as “Learned Data” which is great. However, other codes I enter will show up in the Action List as “IR Data” in which case I can not import the codes.

Does anyone know why some codes show up as “Learned Data” and others show up as “IR Data”?

I have tried to get the MX-800 to learn the commands from the original remote but it is just not happening and I have tried about everything. I realize that I could get a different remote that will accept hex codes, like a Pronto, and then use that to teach the MX-800…. But what a hassle! Any suggestions would be great. The equipment I am attempting to program is a Primare SP31.7. Thanks.

Hex codes show up as learned data, but RC5 codes (those that begin with 5000) are part of the ProntoEdit IR database and will show up as such. Have you found any hex codes for the Primare?

That's the missing link of information I was looking for. Thanks!

No, the only posted codes I can find at RemoteCentral are RC5s. I guess I need to find someway of getting these codes converted.

Does anyone know how to convert RC5 to HEX?
