I would like to control all to the components located at the front of my room using RF. I have one component at the back of the room which will be too far away from the RF base station to attach the emitter. Will the MX600 be able to control both IR and RF devices at the same time?

Yes, it does both IR and RF simultaneously. You could also add a second base station as well.

The mx-600 will not control ANY RF components, it is strictly an IR controlling remote, just like ALL other RF universal remotes.

Yes, I'm aware that it won't control dedicated RF devices. What I meant was that I want to control the components at the front of my room using the MRF-100 RF Base Station and the single component at the back of the room with IR.

I would think you'll have the MRF-100 at the back of the room to control the "remote" component, then control the rest via IR emitted from the front of the mx-600.

The MRF-100 must be at the front of the room, the Tivo and processor are behind cabinet doors.

But to control the component at the back of the room via IR it has to be in the line of sight of the remote. A cheaper alternative to another MRF-100, you might have one already, the pyramid remote extenders sold under RS, x10, RCA and many others. The mx600 will communicate directly with these, they go for under $20 a set on ebay or cheaper if you just buy the receiver, which is all you'll need.

I never said that I was going to get another MRF-100. The "rear" component has no problems receiving the IR signal from my current MX-500, even if I point it in the opposite direction to the front of the room.

Yeah, you never say, that's why I have to suppose.:) If the mx-500 works, then the mx-600 will too.
