I almost have my MX-500 all setup with the help of IRCLONE-MX. The only thing I can't get to work is the PLAY, STOP, PAUSE, <>, <<>> buttons. I have gone through several learn processes and can't get it to work. I even tried different remotes that work fine with my Sony DVD player and learned the code that way. Still the DVD Player does not respond to my buttons when I press them. I do have the device set to SONY-DVD-33 as the device codes go. I was able to get the DVD buttons to work in the LCD area where they were learned, but can't get them to work on the standard buttons. Any ideas why this isn't working? I have a SONY DVP-CX985V 400 Disk player.

I'm having the same problem with Sony SLV-D950 video/dvd combi. It'll go back for a replacement brand if I can't get it to work tomorrow.

There's prbably a punch through enabled, you might not have done it, but sometimes enabled out of the box. try this:

1. main and ent
2. punch
3. play
4. dvd
5. dvd again

That did it Edmund, the Punch through settings were messing up the buttons at the DVD level. Drove me nuts trying to get that to work correctly. Thanks!!
