I've finally got my MX-500 all set up for my new Yamaha Amp/Receiver and TiVO unit, but the one thing left is to be able to just push one button and switch my RCA F38310 38" HDTV unit from regular to widescreen aspect - and then back again. Right now I have to use the remote that came with the TV, switch over to the DirecTV input (which I no longer use) - pull up the menu, hit 6 then 4 and then change from regular to Full. This is a real pain in the rear. Isn't there just one code I could use to do this? Where would I find discrete codes for this model TV? Or is there some way I can macro the sequence into MX500?

You could easily make this a macro on the MX-500 using one of the dedicated macro buttons, or using a favourite. These would be the most logical places for the macro in my opinion.
god helps those who help themselves.

Some RCA tv's, the input commands are actually the power commands from certain rca components. VCR's, SAT's, and DVD players. Try some of the RCA codes in the mx-500, see if the power commands switch to certain inputs? If they do, you'll need another learning remote, to take advantage of the commands.
