I apologize if this is not the correct place to ask.

But first of all, is anyone using the RadioRA system with low volt recessed lights? I was curious since Lutron seems to have a whole set of dimmer switches for different types of lighting.

I read from the recessed lighting brochure I'm getting that a standard incandesant dimmer works fine, but when I look at the lutron dimmers, they've got one for incandesant, magnetic low voltage and electronic low voltage. And these are just for the standard dimmers.

I was checking at the RadioRA and they don't seem to mention what type of lights it works with. I'm hoping that it does work with it. Anyone out there with this type of setup?

Second, I'd like be able to control this with my MX-800. What would I need to allow my remote to "talk" to my lights.

Thanks

You will need an RA-IR, it will give you 15 scenes plus all on & all off

jwalkup,
Is the RA-IR a wall plate from Lutron? I was planning to get one of their RadioRA kits, is that an accessory I can add-on?

oex,
I haven't bought the cans yet. But I can give them a call and ask. Is there a preference to go with one vs the other (for the RadioRA)?

The RA-IR is a wall mounted device:
()
You will want to locate the RA-IR where you can get
an ir emmiter from your MX-800 to it.

Yes

Electroinic tranformers have a failure rate far greater
than magnetic tranformers. ( My experience )

Thanks for the info, jwalkup.

I'll look in to that device.

And just to clarify, will magnetic transformers work with RadioRA as well?

Thanks for the link.

I went to go to the lighting shop today to pick up the cans and trims but they were closed :(

I thought they'd be open since it laborday and it's a retial shop. Oh, well, I'll have to wait till sometime during the week or next weekend. I'll make sure the cans are for magnetic low voltage.
