Does anybody out there have a programming cable for an MX-3000 they can sell me? I have either misplaced my cable or the 3000 didn't come with one. I Called HTM and they do not have any they can sell me (Can you believe that?)

This is my first MX3000, had it for about a month, I've been programming in my spare time and just now getting around to downloading. It being a month since I opened the box, I can't remember if the cable was in there or not. HTM swears that it is impssoble that the unit came w/o a cable so i must have lost it. That's possible but I'm pretty organized and rarely mispalce or lose stuff like that.

Anyway I'm hoping that there are a few installers out there who (like myself) have sold lots of 3000's and have an extra cable or 2 laying around they can spare. I have gobs of Pronto and MX700/800 cables. I have yet to sell an MX3000, so that is why I don't have a cache of extra cables.

I'm tempted to lampoon HTM for not having an extra cable to sell me but what's the point?

Call Kevin or Jason at Home Theater Master (1-800-901-0800) to get a cable. They should have an extra one for you. I think they charge like $15.00 for them. They are waiting for a shipment of parts for the MX-3000 from the factory, so that's why they told you they don't have any now.

Thanks Mike. I called that number and they transfered me to Jason and I left a message on his voice mail. I'll post here the results as soon as they get back to me. I fear that they are going to be very busy getting ready for CEDIA (as am I) but I'll cross my fingers that this will work. Currently this remote is sort of useless w/o this cable. I didn't really want to have to purchase another 3000 just to get a cable. I have a few more Pronto 6000's that I want to move before I migrate over to the 3000.

If any one out there has any extras, I'd be happy to purchase one.

Funny thing. In about a year, I'm sure I'll be swimming in these cables. But for now...what I'd give to have one! I have l turned my office and laptop case upside down looking for this cable. I've got at least 2 hours looking for it. Sheesh!

Did you check behind the fridge?

Sorry, could not resist, what a pain.

Jason at HTM called me back yesterday morning and is sending out a cable - no charge (I offered to pay). He told me they do not yet have the cables as a "part number" that one can purchase, but he had several lying around.

Thanks for the tip and phone # Mike. By the time the cable arrives, I will be at CEDIA but I can get back to programming when I get back from Indy.

I know you already got a cable from HTM, but isn't the MX-3000 cable a standard USB to Mini USB cable??

No, the end that connects to the MX-3000 is even smaller than a mini USB.
