I was interested in purchasing the MX500 have a few questions 1) have a pioneer 45 sacd dvdaudio, dvd and cd player roll into one powered by a yamaha 6 channel amp for surround sound how is that programed into the mx500. I also have a phillips two cd recorder can that be program into the mx500 and set up to record?

If you still have the original remotes, most equipment can be controlled by the MX-500 without problems. There are some things that do have problems though, and I don't know if your components fall into this category. The MX-500 doesn't control things that use an RF remote (vs an IR remote). Few audio/video components use RF though, so your probably OK there. The MX-500 doesn't do a very good job with things that use alternating parity either. I don't know if you have any such components, but there are some Philips devices that DO use alternativing parity. So that might be something to worry about. Perhaps you should try to get an MX-500 that you can return if it doesn't work well for you.

I can tell you that if it does control all of your components, you'll probably love it. I love my MX500, and most people do.
