I am getting ready to think about adding some light controll to my house and I am wondering if I need the X-10 controller or just the modules since the MX-3000 will be doing the controlling? Do I need the X-10 controller to set up the light or can I just set the MX- to do it for me? If the latter how do I do it (I tried with a single light control and didn't have any luck).

Thanks in advance

You'd need an IR543 IR-to-X10 converter (about $20 online) to control X10 equipment with the MX-3000 (or any other universal remote).
