Isn't it possible to create a new forum for the mx-3000 like the pronto remotes? The list of questions is going to be very long when more & more consumers buy this remote.
Thanks Gupper

I wouldn't have any problems with that - I think that the MX-3000 is different enough from the MX-500, 600, 700 and 800 that the questions and solutions aren't really compatible. David www.BlueDo.com

I would guess that when the discussion becomes intense enough it might happen. I agree that it is different enough from the rest of the remotes and that it deserves it's own forum. But I think Daniel likes to take it easy and let the site evolve. there are a lot of remotes that never caused the traffic and therefore never got their own forum.
There are only seven threads on this page on the 3000 and that is the last two days

My main holdup is with creating forums that get no traffic or live a couple months and then die. When the MX-3000 *needs* a new forum, it will get one.

It would be cool to get some designs for it, like with the TSU7000 contest.

cant wait for mx3000 codes.:) been doing prontos and just started working with the htms. I would really like to learn how to customize these things and for that matter how to customize the prontos. To be quick and slick as it were

Actually, I could see the TC forum get archived at this point...... no posts in 2+ weeks, and only 20ish for the year so far...... Not my call obviously, but 7 threads in 2 days seems a much better rate than 20 in 6 months.....

Since I don't really like the idea of "archive" forums sitting around, I was actually debating whether to merge its contents with the general Universal Remotes forum.

That is what I was thinking (merge)
Impaqt I agree that TC is useless now, but there was a time when there was a lot of activity. The remote came out around the same time as the original Pronto and back there was a lot of posting. Unfortunately for it the Pronto evolved and it got abandoned.
Give it time and the original Pronto forum will nott have much activity. Does tthat it was a useless forum?

A Merge could be a good thing..... Keeps the messages somewhat handy and keeps the forum layout clean.
I never said the TC forum was useless, and I certainly wouldnt call any pronto forum useless.
But when activity dies down, it too should be Archived/Merged to keep the flow of the site.
The logical layout and resonable number of forums is the prime reason remotecentral is my favorite a/v related website. if Daniel started up new forums for every new remote it could get out of hand real quick.
The MX-3000 is quite a departure from the rest of the HTM line though.... When the time comes, a dedicated forum is justified.

Perhaps just as there's an "Other Remotes" branch, there could be an "Older Remotes" branch for remotes that aren't generating much activity for a long time.
Just an idea.

I never said the TC forum was useless, and I certainly wouldn't call any pronto forum useless. Sorry, I took but 7 threads in 2 days seems a much better rate than 20 in 6 months as being a response to my I would guess that when the discussion becomes intense enough ... only seven threads on this page on the 3000 and that is the last two days and I just wanted to clarify that the reason the TC got a forum was that at some point there was activity on the subject. And used the Pronto forum as an example of one that is fading. And I definitely did not use useless as an insult just as something that currently has no use or is not used. But when activity dies down, it too should be Archived/Merged to keep the flow of the site. I agree with qualifiers. 1) if it is too much trouble for Daniel, then forget about it, not worth it. 2) it could lead to confusion to anyone looking for info. i.e. anyone looking for info on the TC or older Prontos knows that the TC forum and Pronto forum discuss that and don't put that info in the subject or body. So merging forums could lead to more problems then solutions.

The Pronto forum will never be merged. It's just too big. It's *the* forum. It might eventually be moved, but for now it stays as is.
The reason I'm considering merging the Take Control forum is because it never really took off, and has certainly died down. I don't have any way of merging forums right now, but of course I'll just write something to do it. I'd probably preface all threads from it with "Take Control:" so they can be easily identified when searching.
Another potential merging candidate is the TheaterTouch forum, but they keep promising to come out with new products.

I would propose a potential feature for a lot of the remote forums - a field to select what remote (or remote family) you're referring to. I know that lots of posts in this particular forum fail to mention whether the issue pertains to the MX-500, MX-700, MX-1000, MX-3000, URC-series, etc. I'm sure it's a lot of work, but perhaps something to consider in the future. could be a good idea. But if implemented there should be an opt out. The topic might not be on one remote (what is better 500 or 700), too general (what is HTMs policy on....) or too futuristic (heard rumour that HTM is working on the 1000000, has any one any more info)
