I was wondering how people are integrating the DVR cable boxes into their MX macro programming?
I currently have a standard SA digital cable box. Since it does not have any discrete on/off commands, I leave the box on 24/7 (per recommendations from this forum). This allows all my MX800 macros to work without any issues regarding the state of the cable box.
I'm thinking of upgrading to a DVR cable box. However, if I left that DVR on 24/7 wouldn't it just keep recording and fill up my disk in about 3 days?
I'm wondering how other people are dealing with this.
thanks

No, DVRs only record when you tell them to record, whether they're on 24/7 or not. You'll have no problems leaving the unit on all the time. David www.BlueDo.com

I think technically the DVR is recording the tuned channel while its on so that you can pause and stuff. But it just re-writes itself as it goes along. I have had my replay tv DVR on for almost 2 years now with no problems. I would just leave it on.
