I am ready to start my programming and want to make sure I have the basic programming steps in order before I start.
As I understand it I should:
Label my LCD Device buttons on the Main Page.
Label individual LCD Device buttons on respective Device pages.
Learn/program individual Device buttons from each device remote.
Program Pass Throughs.
Program Macros.
Upload finished programming to MX-700.
Download finished programming to a MX-Editor Saved file.
Am I correct? If not please correct me.
Thank you.

Hi, I've just finished programming my MX-700, and what you've described is pretty accurate. Actually the downloading is TO the remote, and the uploading FROM the remote. You don't need to upload back to the computer assuming you have saved your editor file as you go. Other tips: have all your model numbers for your components handy AND if you have access to a laptop with a serial port, it will make your job a lot simpler, as you can test commands in front of your system. Study your current remotes to work out which page lay-out will work best for you. You'll probably find, as I did, that you spend some time tweaking and improving your remote even after you think you've finished.

I would also put an extra download in that sequence before doing punch throughs. I have found it best to do a complete test of all codes after I think I have all of the IR data learned and programmed. If you are 100% sure that your IR codes are good it will make fixing punch throughs and macros that much easier.
