I'm programming macros to the Favorite buttons. The channels are 113.3, 116.3, etc.
I can execute these channels from the MX-500 by pressing the numerical keys, and using one learned key (learned the "ENT" key the "-" key from my Panasonic remote).
Problem is, when I program a macro, the macro repeats the number just before the dash, so:
113-3 becomes 113-33 116-3 becomes 116-63
If I leave out a number:
113- becomes 113-3 116- becomes 116-6
Any ideas why the number before the dash is repeating? The symbol that displays one the LCD when I press the "ENT" button to put in the learned "-" is "E" if that helps at all.
[Edit] One other isssue - there is an 'OK' button on my remote, that tells the television that the channel entry is complete, used to navigate menus, etc. I have learned it to the remote, and it works fine in regular use. Trouble is, it won't show up in a macro. When I press the learned OK key while recording a macro, nothing happens - no symbol appears, and it doesn't execute. Any ideas on this?
Thanks,
Dana

Repeating numbers in a FAV macro are usually due to underlying preprogrammed code in the device, even if you've never used a preprogrammed code. This is the main reason why it's recommended that you use the AUX 155 preprogrammed code with each device prior to learning. Try applying the AUX 155 code to channel changing device and learning the commands if you previously used a preprogrammed code. Mike www.SurfRemote.com

AUX 155 - why, is the Archer a non-device?
Sounds like I'm going to have to clean off all my learned keys on the device to troubleshoot...bummer. No way to clean just one key?

Yes, the AUX 155 code only contains a few weak commands on a couple of the number keys. If you have learned commands, applying the AUX 155 preprogrammed code should not affect them.
Regarding the OK command, which button did you learn it to on the MX-500 and does it not work in regular macros, or just FAVs?

Thanks very much for your help, Mike.
On the AUX 155 - so I should:
1. Apply that to the TV device to clear all the pre-programmed TV codes. 2. Apply the correct TV code to the TV device to bring the pre-programmed TV codes back. 3. Re-learn the macro to the Favorite button and give it a try.
Have I got that right?
I learned the OK command to the Record button on the TV device (the rest of the transport/navigation buttons on the TV device are learned DVD transport/navigation commands).
I was trying to use the learned OK commnad in a Favorites macro - I didn't try any other macro types, because I want the "OK" to send after the channel numbers so the channel changes faster using the Favorites. If the OK isn't pressed/sent, the set waits a while to be sure you aren't entering in more numbers...
Of course I could select the favorite channel I want and then press the Record button to send the OK manually, but that kind of defeats the simpler/fewer button presses goal. :-)
I can try it in another macro (on the macro1 button) if that will help troubleshoot.
Thanks very much!
Dana

If you've learned the commands from your TV remote to the MX-500, just apply the AUX 155 code and try it out as is. If you used a preprogrammed code, do the first two steps you described above. You shouldn't have to redo your FAV macro.
The reason I asked what button you learned the OK command to is because the Favorite Channel macros will only work with the following buttons: [0] though [9], [ENT], [DIS], [PAUSE/INFO - only adds delay time, cannot be used for a command], [POWER] and [SYSTEM OFF]. To use the OK button, you'll need to learn it to one of the above buttons.

Mike:
OK - tested it per your suggestion, and have interesting results.
Applied AUX 155 to TV from AUX.
Applied TV 080 to TV from TV (to get TV control back).
OK key from Panasonic remote learned to Enter key on TV device.
Macro on M3:
6, 3, OK = 63 OK when I play it back, works fine.
Macro on Device key (the type where you hold the Device key down for 1 second to run the macro):
6, 3, OK = 63 OK when I play it back, works fine.
Macro on Favorite channel:
6, 3, OK = 63 OK 3 when I play it back. Other channels the same, 5, 1, Enter = 51 Enter 1
So the OK key (learned to the Enter button) only doubles when used in a macro on the Favorite channels. Any ideas??
Also, the Favorites are shared/the same for all devices, right?
If I need to try some sort of "clear all" I'm (sigh) willing to do it to get this to work as it should.
Dana

On the FAV macro, try entering some delay time between each command (0.2 seconds each time you push the "Pause" key). For example, try 5, Pause, 1, Pause, Enter.
If that doesn't work, apply the AUX 155 command again and then learn the commands from your TV's remote.

Tried pauses in every spot, and all spots. If that doesn't work, apply the AUX 155 command again and then learn the commands from your TV's remote. As Charlie Brown would say: "THAT'S IT!!!" :-) Did the AUX 155 to the TV device, learned the numerical keys from the TV remote, put in the channel macro and it runs perfectly... Thanks VERY much, Mike, for your patience and help - I never would have gotten this solved on my own. Dana
