Hi All,

My MX-700 arrived Wednesday from bluedo. I was happy to see this open box special looked brand new (as others on this forum have also experienced).

Initial horror at not being able to communicate over serial cable was quickly solved searching this forum. I had to turn off Palm HotSync program. The internet is just darn kewl that way.

Suggestion to URC: Please put a blurb in the MXEditor reference Manual on what the proper serial port settings are. Eventually I found them in your FAQ. But on page 1 of the manual you detail how to make a serial cable, so that would be a good place to also list the proper COM settings. I'ld have done it for you and emailed the result to you, but I don't have a PDF editor.

Anyhow, couple quick questions:

1. In the Edit and Label Buttons panel, when I pull down the IR Code list, I see all the buttons for pages1~4, then I see the Hard Buttons, then I see the Hard Buttons AGAIN. They are listed twice. Why? Is there something corrupted with my copy of MXEditor, or is this supposed to be like this? If this is normal, why is it done? Mostly I want to make sure nothing is screwy with my MXEditor.

2. This is trivial but... is there a way to move around the Database IR codes on hardbuttons? Reason I ask is that I used pre-programmed IR codes for my cable box (ie. used SA Explorer Series codes for my SA Explorer 3250). Everything works great except the database has the code for # on the ENT button, and the code for ENT on the +10 button. I would like to swap them if possible. I am aware I can just learn these buttons, but generally, i would like to know if there is a way to swap around database IR codes on hard buttons.

Sorry so wordy.

Thanks,

Sooke

1. Yes, that's normal.

2. Unfortunately no, you can't.

Thanks Mike.

Any idea why the hard buttons are listed twice?
