I just recieved my MX-3000 a few days ago, and in the manual it says if you hold down the "MAIN" button for 5 secs it will take you to the Setup Screen, and it did this fine the first time I tried it. I then uploaded a configuration from my PC, and now holding down the "MAIN" button for any amount of time fails to bring up the setup screen. I have tried the reset button inside the battery compartment with no luck.

Everything else on the remote works great. I just cant get back to the setup screen.

By the way, other than this one glitch, I LOVE THIS REMOTE.

It should work with any configuration, although I have to hold it down longer than 5 seconds. Try downloading the default setup to the remote and see if you get it back then.

Hi Mike,

Thanks for the reply, I tried the NEW with 12 Devices and no luck, tried removing the battery for some time, and even pressed the reset button to hopefully drain any capacitance that might have been left. No luck, called HTM Tech, and they want me to RA it. But dont know when they will recieve more units it to replace it if need be.

I am leary of sending it off because I have been waiting for it for some time now. This is the only glitch with the remote that I can find, all other functions seem to work great.

STUMPED.

I know this sounds silly, but make sure you are on the main screen of the remote when you try to get to setup. Also, I have to hold mine down much longer hen 5 seconds to get into setup

FWIW - Works on my setup with far from default settings, 5-6 seconds. Hope you get it figured out.

Works OK for me

Remember: from sleep mode the first press does not count

I appreciate all your responses, but I think there is something more wrong with the remote, I am trying it from the main screen, and itt is not the first press.

On my PC if I turn on the password option for the setup screen, and then upload to the remote, When I hold the MAIN button down for approx 5-6 secs, I actually get the password screen to show up so I know the 5 sec hold down is working, and when I type in the correct password it takes me directly back to the MAIN Page1. And from this point forward I cant even get the Password window to show up, the only way to make it show up again is to upload again from the PC.

Thanks again for your suggestions, but I think I might just have to be without for a while, and send it back to HTM. I Just hope that they can fix it and not have to replace it, because they told me they didnt know how soon they would have more in to replace it with.

Try without the password option

I did not realize you were using the password option: I do not use that

Could you change the program to No password option and try it again?

Mark,

It was originally without the password option, and nothing every shows up. Its like the SETUP window is invisible or the code gets hung and catn display it correctly. What I was getting at was the fact that I know the 5 sec Hold of MAIN works correctly because it will display the password screen if I enable it. BUT then even when I enter the correct password it will take me directly back to the MAIN page.

Sounds like you should send it to Universal. I bet that if they did need to replce it, you would get priority over filling an order for the first time.
