I have a 522 Dish Network DVR receiver. This receiver allows two (2) TV's to be hooked up to one receiver. The receiver is located in the living room, and hooked up to the main TV there (TV1). The second TV is in the bedroom (TV2), with a coax cable that goes from the receiver in the living room to TV2 in the bedroom. The receiver comes with two different remotes, an IR one to control TV1 and an "UHF" remote for TV2. The bedroom TV is controlled through this "UHF" remote.
I want to replace the "UHF" remote in the bedroom with a universal remote...maybe the MX-600. But I'm not sure this would work, as the MX-600 is typically for IR components that you want to turn into RF. Can the MX-600 bypass the base station and directly communicate with the receiver, as the "UHF" remote does now?
Is there any universal remote that can replace this "UHF" remote?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Ed

Not sure this is feasible for the MX-600, even with an RF2RF converter (Dave Houston is the expert on that, perhaps he will chime in) and IR Clone (using CCF files).
On the other hand, can you control your output 2 with an IR remote if the receiver is set on a different address?
Martin :-)

Is there any universal remote that can replace this "UHF" remote? Unfortunately, there are no universal RF remotes. The MX-600 (or any other universal remote with RF) only communicates with its own base station and cannot control other RF equipment. Mike www.SurfRemote.com

Mike, Thanks for the reply. I was afraid of that. I guess I'm stuck with this junk remote for now...
Martin, thanks for the help anyways.
Thanks, Ed
