After a DL with an error message my MX700 is caught in an endless TEST loop, how do I fix it?

I rebooted my PC and took the batteries out of the MX700 for 10-minutes but it goes right back in the endless test loop when inserting batteries.

While in Test mode, press and hold the Main and Stop buttons at the same time for approximately 7 seconds. This will cause it to freeze in Test mode. Then, connect it to your PC and do a download of a default 10 device configuration. You should then be able to download your regular configuration back into the MX-700.

The solution was not to use the MX800 software for the MX700 as I think I heard here. Damien at URC gave this to me.

1. Take one battery out.

2. Push the MAIN button 4X to clear the power(?)

3. Press MAIN and STOP and MX700 will freeze

4. Load a new "no device" file

5. Then load your file.

Seems to work now.

Didn't know you were using the MX-800 software with the 700, Jim. That's definitely a no-no.

Step 2 is a new one on me. You don't usually need to do that, but hey, whatever works. ;-)
