Hi,

Struggling to decide which remote control to buy the phillips ipronto or the MSX 3000. Anybody able to recommend one or the other.

It really depends on what features you want: I tried the iPronto and was very disappointed with most of its functions: it has a guide and web browser but they are so slow they are of little value: it has a bright, large screen which is probably its strongest feature

iPronto uses 802 wireless communications and that is a plus, but the software is still buggy

The MX3000 works great out of the box: it has no guide or web browser but its software is much better than iPronto: HTM clearly spent a lot of time on the MX software (still needs some work)

Bottom line I prefer the MX3000: sold my iPronto and have no regrets

Ditto -

I agree with everything Mark said 100%

I actually owned two of the remotes and switched to the MX-3000. It is a great remote with a big screen - the other two functions, the browser and the electronic guide were not very useful to me. The 9 months I owned the iPronto it did work flawlessly.

I have had the MX-3000 for a month and am very happy with it.
