MX3000 (MRF-250) with URC-200 or MX-600?

Hello:

I am looking at the MX3000 or my new home home construction as opposed to a much more expensive Crestron system my local shop is pushing me toward.

I appologize in advance if this question has been asked/answered (I DID do what I thought were relevant searches before posting).

I am going to have my whole system, av receiver, 3 sat boxes, etc in one closet. I plan on whole house distribution of audio and video from this one central location. Max distance from the closet to a user location is less than 50 feet.

I like the mx3000 and have been playing with the software that Hank was nice enough to send me some time ago.

The mx3000 would be great for me in the main living room, but I need to control TVs in 4 other rooms as well. I really do not see the wife (and kids) tolerating moving about the house with the MX3000 in tow. Who am I kidding - the 3000 will be for me only!

Would getting a URC-200 or MX-600 solo for these other locations be a viable option and work well with the MRF-250?

TIA,

Miguel Garcia

No - those remotes will not control the MRF-250.

You can use the MX800 or the MX3000 and select different IDs on each base and remote so they don't interact. If you have enough equipment in each of the 5 areas, then get 5 MX3000 remotes.
I may be schizophrenic, but at least I have each other.

Good to know the 800 and 3000 will work together with different IDs, I was hoping that the simpler (and cheaper) remotes would work with the MRF-250 - guess not though.

Does this mean the 800 and 3000 will both work with the same base?

I guess the next question is which base or both? If I have equipment at two locations, can I use one base for one, the other base for location 2 and use either remote for both equipment locations? Did this make sense or am I in a remote do loop?

The MRF-200 and 250 are virtually identical, so you can use either one with the 800 or 3000.
