I have an MX-500 and I am very pleased with it's operation, except for with one device. I have a plasma on a wooden cabinet with the components inside, behind glass panelled doors. Every thing works great except my DVD player's IR target is off to one side and is shielded by the wood frame, and therefore I have to aim the MX-500 from one side of the room. Is there an inexpensive IR repeater solution to solve this problem?

If you are proficient with a soldering iron:

I'm terrible at soldering! Also maybe looking for something a little smaller.

You can look at something like this:

but you will have to watch where you place the IR receiver to avoid interference from the plasma TV.
You may want to discuss it with Surf before buing.
An IR repeater system with a "plasma-friendly" receiver can get expensive.

Since I can put the IR receiver inside the cabinet and the plasma is on the top of it, do you think that I will still have a problem?

I'll call Surf today. Thanks.
